How Decree Candle Co Came To Fruition
Welcome! Thank you so much for your interest in Decree Candle Co.! It truly means the world to me that you are here. I would like to share my testimony as to how Decree Candle Co. came to fruition.
My husband, my King, is a disabled combat veteran. While serving in Iraq, his platoon was hit by a car bomb explosion. As a result, he sustained a permanent traumatic brain injury and suffers from severe PTSD. We were blessed when we found out my husband qualified for the VA Caregiver program. A program where the VA allowed me to stay home to care for my husband and they paid me to do so. After 8 years, even though my husband’s condition had visibly declined, the VA determined that he no longer met the criteria and I had to return to work. It was difficult to balance being a caregiver, mother, working woman, volunteer at the church, and home maker. There were times when my husband was 100% bedridden for weeks at a time due to a form of seizures caused by his PTSD. But, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and I poured my everything into managing it all.
In 2020, our town was completely devastated by a wildfire. Our hometown was completely destroyed, left to ashes. Our family was displaced for over 4 months, living in a hotel with 3 dogs and a cat, but by the grace of God, we, unlike so many others, were able to return to our home. But, it was not the same. There were new challenges. New circumstances. So, in 2021 we sold my home that I thought I would live in forever and moved to a new state to start over. We were staying at my father’s home, didn't have a place of our own yet, and I began looking for a job. It was at that time that the Lord spoke to me and gave me the vision of Decree Candle Co. I was nervous to "not work", as anyone who goes into business for themselves knows that income is not a guarantee. But the Lord told me to trust in Him, and that I will have both INCOME and a way to be home to care for my husband as needed.
In the vision plan of Decree Candle Co., every step has been guided by the Holy Spirit. You may notice that I do not have a large selection of scents for YOU to choose from. Holy Spirit told me to craft specific candles, with specific purpose and specific prayers, and as I craft these candles, I am to use scents from the oils found in the bible and scents that hold a high symbol of meaning. Oils and scents such as frankincense, myrrh, cassia, cinnamon, cedarwood, sandalwood (referred to as aloes in the bible), spikenard and hyssop. I was guided to fragrances and created blends that have at least one or multiple of these essential oil elements within them. Every candle is poured with 100% intention, and I do not take this assignment given to me lightly. I am being obedient. I am being faithful and trusting in God. There is power in our obedience!
So, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to bless you with these special anointed candles and I thank you for you blessing me with the opportunity to stay home and honor my husband in being able to care for him as he needs.
